GOOD NEWS !!!!!!

After considering the objections from Thurrock Council, The Stanford Forum and other objectors, the application to demolish the house at 41 Corringham Rd and build flats and appartments on the land has been turned down by the Planning Inspectorate. The Stanford Forum would like to thank all those who signed our petition and wrote to the inspector.

The Stanford Forum has been active in Stanford le Hope for a number of years, originally being part of The Hope Committee. In October 2006 it was agreed that the Stanford Forum and The Hope Committee should  become two separate organisations..

The Hope Committee would continue to organize the Stanford Festival, Carol’s on the Green and other such community events, as well as having an input into the Stanford Forum.

The Stanford Forum would concentrate on the increasing importance that Local and Central Government were putting on involving local people in local issues. As well as trying to improve the local facilities and services.

Some of the projects the Forum have initiated and funded are The Hardie Rd Skateboard Pk, the bollards in the town centre, the play area at Stanford Infants School, The Stanford Music Festival and much more.
