The Planning Inquiry starts on the 18th October 2011, we would like as many people as possible to come along to the Civic Offices in New Rd Grays between 9am & 10am when the Inspector is likely to arrive, to show your support for RAID and the Stanford Forum in trying to prevent this development going ahead.

There is no need to attend the Inquiry we will be making representations on behalf of the local residents.

Please see attached Statement of Case lodged with the Planning Inspectorate. This is only a brief summary the arguments will be expanded on when the Proof's of evidence are submitted in September.

Very shortly there will be an on-line petition to sign asking Thurrock  Council to make the strongest representation's against this development. A link to the petition will be available on this page.

As you may be aware the Butts Lane Development proposed by Barrett Homes has been called in by The Secretary of State, this means there is now to be a Public Enquiry. If you wrote to the National Casework Unit you will have received a letter informing you of this.

There is now another opportunity to make your views known regarding the development; any previous objections you have raised may not be put before the Planning Inspector running the Public Enquiry so it is important you contact them again.

Below is the contact details for you to send your objections to, also there is a sample letter containing the reasons that are acceptable to raise as objections, things like drops the value of my house, too many houses in Stanford le Hope already etc are not viewed by Inspectors as being valid reasons to object.

It is important that we respond in number to this enquiry, people thought the development was a done deal, especially once Thames Gateway Development Corporation gave the ok. Residents feared that all was lost, we made a very strong case against the development that is why the decision has been called in and we have another opportunity to protect the over development of our Greenbelt.

R.A.I.D. and the Stanford Forum will be making the strongest objections possible and will attend the Public Enquiry but we need your support.

We will organise another Public Meeting the date of which will be advertised
